1. What Chowser is

Chowser is a matching platform that connects users who want to split food orders or run orders for others at popular NYC restaurants. Chowser is a coordination tool only — we do not prepare, handle, or deliver food, and we do not process, hold, or guarantee any payments between users.

2. Peer-to-peer payments — read this carefully

All payments between users are settled directly and privately using third-party apps such as Venmo, Cash App, Zelle, or cash. Chowser has no role in any financial transaction between users.

  • Chowser does not escrow, hold, or move money on your behalf.
  • Chowser cannot issue refunds, reverse payments, or resolve payment disputes.
  • If a user fails to pay, fails to pick up, or fails to run an order as agreed, Chowser is not liable for any resulting loss.
  • You assume full financial risk when coordinating transactions with other users. Only transact with people you are comfortable trusting.

3. No guarantees

Chowser does not verify user identities, restaurant availability, food quality, wait times, or any information posted by users. Posts may be inaccurate, outdated, or abandoned. Always confirm details directly with your match before committing to a transaction.

4. Your responsibilities

  • You must be 18 years or older to use Chowser.
  • You must provide accurate information when creating posts and your profile.
  • You agree not to use Chowser to scam, defraud, harass, or harm other users. Violations will result in permanent account removal.
  • You agree to honor commitments you make to other users through the platform.

5. Reporting bad actors

If you encounter a user or post that violates these terms, use the Report feature. Reports are reviewed by Chowser staff. We reserve the right to remove any user or post at any time without notice.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chowser and its operators are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including losses resulting from failed transactions, no-shows, food quality, or the actions of other users.

Chowser is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind.

7. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of Chowser after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
